Notice to SGC Members

Important Message for Silverbell Golf Club Members

Beginning January 6, 2021, Silverbell Golf Club (SGC) will begin using member's USGA Handicap Index for all club play. After January 6, 2021 SGC will no longer maintain a "club" index.

The decision to use member's USGA index as the basis for calculating Course Handicaps is the result of a review of the club's tournament management system and is intended to standardize Course Handicap calculations under the World Handicap System. Additionally, this is the first step in migrating to a new tournament management system. As the migration to a new management system moves forward there will be additional information posted on the SGC website.

What members need to know now:

  1. The club will continue to enter all club play scores in the USGA Handicap System (GHIN).
  2. Members are required to enter all non-club, qualified scores, in the USGA Handicap System (GHIN).
  3. Members should be aware that all scores posted in the USGA Handicap System will be used in developing a member's Handicap Index and will be used to calculate the members Course Handicap for club play.
  4. The SGC Handicap committee will monitor a member's index on a regular basis in accordance with AGA/USGA handicap procedures.
  5. Members are advised to download and utilize the GHIN app which is available for either Android or Apple based smart phones.
  6. As a part of the transition to a new management system, the "Last 20 Rounds" and "Money List" reports will no longer be available on the SGC website after the week of January 4th. Members may track their score history on the GHIN app mentioned above. Currently there is no planned replacement for the "Money List" report.

We hope that the steps being taken will benefit SGC members and allow a more efficient management of the club. Members are encouraged to monitor the SGC website for additional information and updates.

Thank you,
SGC Board of Directors
